Millennium Cancer Fight Song
Hope Line Winter 1999
American Cancer Society, Southeastern Arizona Division

The generous people of Sierra Vista, Arizona are hoping that "Cancer Takes a Holiday." That was the theme of this year's Relay for Life on May 20 and 21. Sierra Vista Oncology dedicated their tent site to "A Cancer Free Millennium," complete with Baby New Year and their own version of Auld Lang Syne.

1. We've fought the fight for many years,
We'll fight until we've won;
We'll all join hands and celebrate
The year that cancer's gone.

Chorus: The year that cancer's gone, my friend,
The year that cancer's gone;
We'll all join hands and celebrate
The year that cancer's gone.

2. We've lost some friends along the way
For them we'll carry on;
We'll raise a glass and celebrate
The year that cancer's gone.

3. May all the cancers be forgot
And never brought to mind;
In the new millennium to come
And all the rest of time.
