IV. One Little Star

When all the stars first climbed their climb
to shine in the heavens for all time,
one little star fell far behind,
one little star in time.
And no one stopped to lift him high,
being so eager to reach the sky.
No one heard as the little star cried,
one little star in time.

star

So he climbed on through the years,
bravely fighting against his tears,
rising through the atmosphere,
one little star in time.
Struggling toward his final spot,
no one cared if he made it or not,
for the little star's fire was not very hot,
one little star in time.

star

One little star didn't shine very bright,
one little star didn't cut through the night,
one little star didn't make enough light,
one little star in time.

star

One day heaven announced a plan,
a child would be sent to the sons of man,
spreading love throughout the land,
one little child in time.
When an angel came to choose a star,
to shine the news both near and far,
his eyes fell on the littlest star,
one little star in time.

star

The angel said, "Well, what a sight!
A baby star just beginning to light.
He'll soon outshine all the others so bright!"
one little star in time.
The little star was lifted high,
and eagerly took his place in the sky,
under the loving angel's eye,
one little star in time.

star

One little star with a brilliant light,
one little star shining love so bright,
one little star and a child in the night,
one little star in time.
